Carlyle raises over US$2 billion for its second infrastructure credit fund

Global investment firm, Carlyle, has announced the final close of Carlyle Infrastructure Credit Fund II, with approximately US$2.3 billion in total capital commitments, exceeding its US$2 billion target. The fund is more than three times larger than its predecessor, reflecting the continued growth of the strategy, and has attracted commitments from sophisticated global institutions across North America, Europe and Asia.

CICF II currently has a portfolio of six investments across North America and Europe with approximately US$500 million of capital committed. The strategy provides directly originated, privately negotiated financing solutions to infrastructure businesses and assets and seeks to invest in below-investment grade opportunities with a relative value approach across sectors, including energy transition, digital infrastructure, transportation and logistics, low-carbon power, water and waste treatment and other essential infrastructure sectors.

“This fundraise marks a major milestone for Carlyle Infrastructure Credit, and we are appreciative of the support of both new and existing investors,” said Erik Savi, Global Head of Carlyle Infrastructure Credit. “Essential infrastructure sectors have significant and growing investment needs, and we believe Carlyle is uniquely suited to capitalise on this opportunity set on behalf of our investors. We remain focused on structuring financings that meet each borrower’s needs, underwritten with the same discipline that has defined our strategy since inception.”
