Tell us a bit about the business and how it started.

Swisslog’s story begins in 1900 in Aarau, Switzerland, where it was founded as Sprecher + Schuh AG. Originally focused on energy distribution, the company shifted to automation technology in the mid-1980s after selling its core businesses. Acquisitions like Translift, Digitron and OWL helped it grow in this field. In 1994, the company was renamed Swisslog and became a global leader in automation solutions for hospitals, warehouses and distribution centres, known for its expertise and quality. KUKA acquired Swisslog in 2014, strengthening its robotics and automation capabilities. Today, Swisslog operates as a leader in logistics automation solutions. The company continues to expand, including into regions like the Middle East, offering tailored, innovative solutions for modern business challenges.
